A working shop,
not a showroom.

Protec Industrial Coatings is an industrial finishing operation in Round Rock, Texas. Our floor is concrete, our walls wear overspray, and our ovens run hot all day — because that's what it takes to move real production volume.

We built this shop for the work most finishers turn away: full production runs, heavy weldments, fleet equipment, structural steel, and recurring contract coating for OEMs and fabricators. Pretreatment, coating, and curing all happen under one roof, on one schedule we control.

No middlemen, no mystery. You deal directly with the people racking and spraying your parts, and every job leaves here checked against spec — not just "looks good from the dock."

Powder
Coating

Electrostatic application cured at 400°F for a finish that outlasts wet paint in abrasion, impact, and UV. Standard and custom colors, textures, and clears.

Batch production · Racked & hung
02

Clear Chemical
Conversion

Chem film (chromate conversion) on aluminum for corrosion protection and paint adhesion — as a pretreat under coating or a standalone finish.

Aluminum substrates · Immersion line
03

Industrial
Wet Paint

For assemblies, substrates, and spec requirements that can't take the oven, our booth handles primers and industrial liquid topcoats.

Heat-sensitive parts · Spec systems

Is your job a fit? We're set up for volume: production runs, fleets and trailers, fabrication batches, OEM parts, and recurring contract work. If it arrives on a pallet, a rack, or a flatbed, bring it to us.

Scope My Run
ST-03Process & Quality Every part earns its way out
OP 10

Intake & Traveler

Parts are counted, inspected, and logged against your PO. Color, film build, and masking requirements travel with the rack, not in somebody's head.

OP 20

Rack & Mask

Parts are hung and fixtured for full coverage, with threads, bores, and mating surfaces masked to the print — before a single tank or gun touches them.

OP 30

Pretreat

Cleaning and chemical conversion on the immersion line so the coating bonds to metal, not to oil and dust.

OP 40

Coat

Electrostatic powder application (or wet paint where spec demands), with attention to Faraday areas, edges, and welds — where cheap jobs fail first.

OP 50

Cure

A full 400°F oven cure to the powder manufacturer's schedule. No short-cycling to squeeze the day.

OP 60

Inspect & Pack

Checked against spec, packed to survive the truck, staged for pickup or delivery on the date we committed to.

Checked before it ships

What "checked"
means here

Quality isn't a slogan on the wall. It's a set of measurements taken before your parts leave.

[✓]
Film thicknessMil-gauge readings against the spec on the traveler, typically 2–4 mils per coat.
[✓]
AdhesionVerified prep and cure so the coating stays bonded under impact and flex.
[✓]
Coverage & appearanceEdges, welds, and recesses inspected under light — the areas that reveal a rushed job.
[✓]
Count & conditionWhat came in goes out: same count, no dings, masked features clean.
